Traveling from Plettenberg Bay to Calitzdorp involves a 280-kilometer journey through the Outeniqua Mountains. You will drive along the N2 to George and then transition onto the R62, known as the longest wine route. The trip takes approximately 3.5 hours. Calitzdorp is famous for its fortified wines, particularly Port. The route offers a dramatic change from coastal forests to the rugged, semi-arid Klein Karoo.
